I really wanted to do a review on Viviscal only because I am obsessed with thick hair. Although, I've been blessed with thick hair and even though it does shed; I have always wanted that soft, thick, voluminous head of hair (think of a Pantene commercial).
So, I was really excited to try this even though I have read many horror stories that it breaks you out, bloats you, promotes hair growth all over (not just your head!) but I was still adamant on trying it out. First of all, it's expensive so it can definitely add up if you use this on a continuous basis (if you are in Canada, use your Shopper's points!).
My review of Viviscal is that I basically have no review....I know confusing, right? Well I stated taking the pills with a fatty vitamin such as my Omega 3 or Vitamin E. Only because I read in a forum that if you take Viviscal with a oily vitamin, it coats the pill and makes it easier to digest (apparently!). After the second day of taking the pills, as per the instructions, I started breaking out. I naturally don't break out (unless it's hormonal) and when I do then that usually means there is something wrong happening with my body. Ever since I've been a teenager, I have not broken out on my cheeks and so it was really strange it was happening while I was on Viviscal. I ignored the breakout and continued taking the pills but it kept on getting worse. The spots also hurt and they weren't a regular break-out at all.
I stopped after a few days because I wasn't willing to have a face full of pimples but have amazing hair! So, I chose my face instead! After a while, I thought maybe I would give it another try and once again I had the same response. I'm not sure if this happens to everyone and maybe after a few months it stops but I wasn't willing to ruin my face for thicker hair.
That's why this isn't a real review. Unfortunately, I could never give this a full shot but like I mentioned before this problem is quite common.
Now I'm off to find another solution to getting that Pantene-like hair!
