Honestly, I do not understand what the hype is around this product. I have very dry skin so I always tend to use a serum/oil before using moisturizer. I've been using the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum for a while so I wanted to change things up.
Firstly, even when I was going to pay for my purchase at Sephora, the girl at the counter suggested I try something else. When I asked why; she let me know that Tarte is primarily a makeup company and that is their niche but they haven't had any experience in skincare so their products aren't as great. That should have been my first clue! I bought the travel size to this because I didn't want to cough up so much money on a product that may not be good.
The oil is a little more thick in texture and it does not absorb easily at all I normally use oils/serums as my nighttime routine and it would take ages for my skin to absorb this oil....I always felt greasy! This was really irritating because I was always afraid to sleep with the oil on my face since it would ruin my pillowcase.
Other than that; it didn't do anything to my face, which I guess can be a good thing. It didn't make me break out (thank God!) or make my skin firmer, brighter, softer. It did nothing. My skin felt the same and I was really hoping for this product to work for me.
I've heard that it has worked wonders for some people so, maybe your skin could react differently. It's always a good idea to go to sephora and get a sample before buying a product.
I guess this is the last time I buy into the hype of all these Instagram bloggers. I keep forgetting that they are being paid to write a good review!
