I've tried 3 sheet masks so far and although I haven't been using them for a long time I wanted to review a few:
I've only tried this once and it's not bad. My skin is naturally super dry and I have a few acne scars. After using the mask, I had soft skin and although my skin wasn't glowing; it still had a really nice texture. The mask is supposed to reduce the appearance of scars so, let's see if that happens as I keep using it. I did have a scar on my top lip from a pimple and the mask significantly reduced the redness! i'm keeping my fingers!
Did it work wonders? no, but then most masks don't and you have to be consistently using a product for years to see an affect to your skin. It definitely made my skin super moist and supple. It did diminish some scars and evened out my skin tone. But is it worth coughing up close to $135 for 10 masks? i'm not sure to be honest. I wear this mask before I have a big event to go to because it instantly gives me a nice boost and the masks are so expensive that I savour each one of them. When I compare the SK-II to the other masks I've tried, I don't get the same effect and my skin isn't as smooth as it is with the SK-II.
Maybe my expectation was way too high when I was purchasing this mask so I'm not as happy. I am always praying that this mask goes on sale so, I can use it more often and consistently to see how the affects are to my skin but alas, the price never goes down!
I think if you have the money then you should definitely invest in this and maybe use the other products in their skincare line as well. It doesn't live up to its hype in my opinion but it also doesn't make you break-out or cause negative effects to your skin; hence, the confusion.
One tip I use when applying this mask is to use the leftover serum in the package the next few days. The mask drips alot of serum in the packaging so don't let a single drop go to waste!
I was reading all the reviews on these masks and for some they have proven to have great results but everytime I try a mask, it makes me break out. I've only tried 2 masks from this line: Rose and Pearl. It did absolutely nothing for me but caused me to break out a day later which caused even more anxiety for me!
Maybe I didn't choose the correct mask for my skin but after my 2 disasters i am very hesitant in trying this mask again.
In my opinion, save your money ladies & gents! put your $6 to the SK-II mask instead.
A tip that i've learnt for trying any type of mask (yes, I know it's obvious but you don't know how many people make this mistake!) is to never try a new product before a big event. Stick to the products that you use on a regular basis because you have no idea how your skin will react. Try a product on a patch of your face when you don't have anywhere special to go in that week....in case there are break-outs and you still have time to run out and buy a good concealer!
I'll provide an update on the My Beauty Diary in another post once i've had a chance to try it a few times.
