The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina is like a dusty rose colour and in a long-lasting matte shade. Its a creamy fast-drying texture spreads easily giving lips a powerful punch of pigment without having to use multiple layers. And, guess what? it stays on no matter what you are doing! I rarely have to apply another layer which is a huge bonus.
the lipstick dries very quickly and as mentioned above it does not budge at all so, I would recommend drawing your lips in with a lip liner before hand so you can get a nice shape. I use MAC Cosmetics Soar to line my lips before applying the lipstick and it matches perfectly. Sometimes, I find that matte lipsticks are uber drying on my lips and although this one is dry it doesn't make my lips look wrinkly or feel like I'm in the desert. With any matte lipstick, I always just dab a small bit on Vaseline or lip-gloss on my lips because I don't like the very dry look and I feel as my lips look fuller with a small amount of lip-gloss but go with what feels right to you! This lipstick is best removed by an oil based makeup remover.
This matte lipstick is absolutely gorgeous on every skin-tone. Although, the colour changes depending on your skin-tone ; it can range from a mauve-pink to a pink. Sometimes when I wear this with lighter makeup it turns out pink while other times if I use bronzer on my face, it turns into a dark-mauve-pink, Honestly, the colour does no wrong in my opinion. I would recommend trying this out on your lips before buying it so you can see the colour on your skin-tone. Let the lipstick dry so you can see it's true colour.
There are dupes mentioned everywhere on forums and one of them is the Sephora brand matte lipstick in Marvelous Mauve. Although, it's cheaper than Stila, it still doesn't do justice to the texture and colour to the original Stila lipstick (honestly, I own both and I keep reaching for Patina).
The only downside to this lipstick is the price. It's quite hefty but you don't need that much of it and like I mentioned above you rarely have to re-apply it throughout the day. I absolutely adore this colour and I believe it's a staple in anyone's makeup collection.
Here are 2 pictures and a link to the blog "That It Girl" where you can see Stila Patina being used on a darker skin-tone.
P.S. seriously go out and buy it!
