I recently visited Bobette & Belle with my girls for a coffee and a quick catch-up. Bobette and Belle are knows for their wedding cakes, classic french macarons, cupcakes, pastries and birthday cakes. There are a few locations and we visited their shop on Yonge street.
The bakery is knows to be very "blogger" friendly and the set-up is very chic and honestly it looks like you walked into a "Pinterest" bakery shop. Every little corner is photograph-worthy and super cute.
We visited the shop around 3:30-ish on a weekend and the whole food section was empty except for 1 cupcake and a few macarons. We were so disappointed that they didn't have any food available and they could not re-stock their items either (apparently!). Other than how beautiful the bakery was, there was no other positive i can say about this place. They had run out of hot chocolate (seriously!) and there was barely anything left to eat. We found a corner to sit and enjoy our coffee but the entire place was cluttered with empty coffee cups and plates....it was a mess! None of the tables were wiped down either. I have always refused to sit in a dirty place/restaurant, it's a huge pet peeve of mine. I asked one of the servers to remove some of the plates and she rolled her eyes at me. After a few minutes she came by and picked up the empty cutlery but did not wipe down the area.
Basically we had a really horrible experience. Many people walked in and when they saw the store had no food items; they just walked out. I'm not going to go visit this place again; not sure if their location on Queen St. East is any better. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and was sorely disappointed.
The bakery seems better through pictures and not in real life.
One of my favourite fashion trend during the Academy Awards, Oscars 2017 were the crowns! Just when you thought you didn't need a crown, well ladies it's time to get yourself a tiara that you deserve!
.Loving star Ruth Negga looked like red-carpet royalty wearing a Gemfield ruby-encrusted crown by Irene Neuwirth with matching diamond-and-ruby drop earrings.
Singer/actor Janelle Monae of Hidden Figures stepped out in a black tulle Elie Saab gown paired with a gold crown by Jennifer Behr.
Salma Hayek opted for a plunging black spaghetti-strap gown, topped with a bejeweled hair piece to pull back her tresses.
I love this trend! You can easily glam up any look by adding a jeweled headband to your hair. There are many stores that are currently selling jeweled headbands such as, Nordstrom, Zara, ASOS, and Aldo.
Go ahead and treat yourself like a Queen!
I received this foundation as a sample and now I am hooked! As you are already aware, my skin is very dry so my experience will be very different from oily skin.
The foundation is made for oily skin and the formula absorbs shine, controls oil and resists sweat. I used a primer underneath, so my skin wasn't overly dry and I love how matte the formula is. Although it didn't give me a flawless complexion like the Make Up Forever (MUFE) HD Foundation does; it still gave me a seamless and really nice appearance. If you do have dry skin, I would recommend adding some moisturizer in the foundation as it may be too drying.
I had an event on the weekend and I layered this with my Make Up Forever Foundation and I had an absolute flawless finish; definitely something I will do in the future if I want heavy coverage. This foundation photographs well but once again not as well as MUFE. It didn't oxidize at all throughout the day and stayed put....I did use Fix+ to make sure it did not move at all.
Also I wore this foundation to work and headed to the gym after and it did not oil-up at all! This foundation resisted any sweat and let me tell you it was quite a workout!
The price for this foundation isn't bad and it's in the middle of a drugstore and a high end product. This foundation is available at many department stores and Sephora. If you are naturally oily then I would highly recommend you check this foundation out!

Hello, ladies! With Valentine’s Day inching closer, it’s time to start planning what you’ll wear. It doesn't matter if you're taken or riding solo, choosing the right outfit is an important piece of the puzzle. But, before you get hung up (and stressed out) trying to put something together, we're here to offer a little inspiration!
Let's start of with some quick tips to keep in mind:
Ok so let's dive in to outfit ideas. So the right outfit is not universal for everyone. I've seen girls wear dresses for v-day, shorts, jumpsuits, skirts and pants. There is no right or wrong thing to wear. The golden rule to any outfit is to wear something that gives you confidence! There is nothing sexier than a woman who exudes confidence so wear something that makes you feel good and sexy....whatever that may be! Accentuate your plus points, so if you have really sexy shoulders, opt for a off the shoulder dress/shirt. If you love your back then go for something backless. the possibilities are endless!
Just remember to be yourself and maybe add a little bit of sexy to your outfit just to keep him on his toes. So if you are more of a casual girl who lives in her jeans and sneakers. Your date is taking you somewhere uber fancy and you are stressing over what to wear. Opt for maybe a simple sheath dress or a jumpsuit so you're still comfortable, with a pair of flats because heels are not your thing! Maybe curl your hair so you get that instant sexy beg-head thing going on, wear a red lipstick, or add a lace bralette under your outfit so he gets a little peak here and there. If your significant other likes a certain colour then try to incorporate that in your outfit.
The most important question that many people think about is....do I wear red on valentine's day or is it too corny? We say, YES! wear it...why not? But don't go head-to-toe in bright red! Try to add in red in little pieces or opt for pink instead? If you want to be a true fashionista then go for burgundy or blush! I absolutely love both of those colours and I find it so sexy and classy.
Another great tip is to wear something different or new on Valentine's day. But don't go OTT or buy something new for no reason. Wear something that your significant other has never seen before so it's exciting or wear something that you would never normally wear. For example, If you aren't huge on jewelry but on v-day add on a pair of studs or earrings just to spice things up. If you don't wear bold or bright colours, try adding a bright colour in your outfit....it could be your bag or your shoes! Dress up not only for him but yourself as well! Keep things exciting and fresh....trust me, men are oblivious but he will notice when you do little things for him.
Whether you’re in a new relationship, celebrating an anniversary or spending quality time with the friends in your life, you’ll have head-to-toe outfit inspirations below:
DINNER FOR TWO:
For the more traditional route when it comes to Valentine’s Day. A dinner reservation at one of your favorite spots is the perfect way to celebrate your love. We say go all-out. Put on a pretty dress, wear those fancy heels, and grab a sparkly clutch.
If you’re living the single life or just don’t feel like celebrating V-Day with your partner, a ladies’ night out is always a good idea. Getting together with a bunch of your best girlfriends is the perfect way to ring in any holiday… especially one based around love. For an outing like this, I would go a little more fun and flirty. Wear a shorter dress or an off the shoulder top, strap on some high heels, and add a pop of color where you can.
For couples looking for a low-key Valentine’s Day, an evening in sounds lovely. You can cook dinner (or order in from your favorite restaurant), watch a movie, play a few card games, and just spend quality time together. And when it comes to dressing for an occasion like this, I would try to mix cozy with chic. Try a feminine dress or a camisole with some jeans, sexy lounge-wear with a delicate necklace.
Valentine's Day is stressful enough, so your outfit should be a no-brainer: wear what makes you feel your best!
I recently went to Her Majesty's Pleasure on King Street West (you know this if my fav place!) and I love, love, love my nails!
The whole experience is great and the girls do such a fab job on your nails. It's a great salon to go with your girls, where you can grab a drink from the bar and go get your nails done while you catch up on some gossip.
If you are in Toronto, you must go check it out!
I recently purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills - Stick Contour from Sephora and I have been obsessed with it every since!
As per Sephora's website, this is a highly pigmented, build able cream stick foundation that "creates a flawless, natural looking demi-matte finish. The Stick Foundation is ideal for combination and oily skin, and the lightweight, easy-to-layer foundation delivers light-to-full-coverage, depending on the method of application."
I bought the colour in Fawn, to use as a contour stick. Fawn is a very cool beige so it can help you chisel out your cheeks. Another great contour colour is in Mink which is a little warmer. I love Fawn because you can easily create a softer contour (i'm a beginner so i'm still learning) whereas with Mink you can create a richer contour.
This stick foundation is huge on Instagram and it seems as though every blogger is using this! I love how smooth and flawless the application is. I've noticed many IG bloggers put on the foundation and spray fix + by MAC, on their face to help them smooth out the foundation. I haven't found the need to use any sort of hydration spray as I find the formula to be quite smooth already.
There are so many shades in this collection from contour, to highlight (they have banana!), and to your regular foundation shades. They have such a variety of colours that I feel anyone would be able to match a colour to their skin, even even our high melanin readers!
The only negative aspect of this foundation would be the price! it's steep but according to me definitely worth the investment.
Fur stoles are so in this winter and i'm sure you have already started seeing them pop up everywhere especially on the fashion bloggers. This is such a chic way to help you through these freezing few months and why not wrap yourself in a huge fur blanket? Let me try to convince you into buying a fur stole.
Worn around the neck like a collar, draped over your shoulder, or in the crooks of your elbows like a shawl, a fur stole adds a luxe feel to your outfit: You can wear them atop a denim jacket, draped around the neck of a longline vest, or across your body like a mini handbag. Another great way to wear a fur stole is to pin a broach on top to make it stay and it can instantly give your outfit a pop of shine!
Whichever look you choose, you need to think about balance. Faux fur stoles can make a bit of a splash, so you don’t want to overcrowd it with statement jewelry, big patterns or clashing colours. Keep it simple and you’ll be able to rock winter stoles all season long!
A trend which I've noticed is the monochromatic look where you match the fur stole with your coat. It's a great way to keep your whole outfit neutral and if you don't want to make a statement then this is a great look.
I've paired my fur stole today with denim jeans and a denim shirt. By adding on the fur stole over my shoulders, I've instantly amplified my outfit and already gotten alot of compliments.
Here are some ways fashion bloggers have incorporated the fur stole to their outfits and hopefully it will encourage you to invest in one!
