I was super excited to try out the new Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara. The mascara has unique fibers that are sealed in 360° tubes that plump and extend lashes for mega volume and extreme length. Some of the features that this mascara claims is to be smudge-free, easy removal and lengthening. So I thought I would test the mascara out on all 3 of it's claims and see how it holds up!
I have short eyelashes (I need extensions big time!) so mascara is a definite must for my beauty regime. They do curl on their own but I do use a curling wand to help accentuate the curve. I tried this mascara about 3 times before coming to a conclusion and i honestly wanted to see how it holds up to my fav mascara by MAC and Maybelline.
So let's start of with the basics. The packaging is really nice and has a non-slip coating which helps you hold the tube. The brush is tapered at the end which makes it easy to get those hard to reach lashes. I wish the brush was bigger and this mascara may be great for your bottom lashes. I found the brush to be too tiny and so it didn't hold as much product on it. It takes a good few swipes to really start to build up this mascara on my lashes, I'm hoping that after some continual use, the formula get's thicker and so I have don't have to apply as much.
I’ve never tried a tubing mascara before so it was definitely different. I only saw the tubes once I washed my face and the product comes off in funny little tubes.
Lengthening: I prefer a fanlike, voluminous effect for my lashes, but I find that this formula doesn't really do anything in terms of lengthening or adding any volume. When I build this mascara, it tends to stick my lashes together and it's very difficult trying to separate them after. I had to apply about 4 coats of mascara for my lashes to look half decent. There was no thickening effect at all. My eyelashes still looked small and bare so a definite thumbs down on this claim.
I found that the mascara didn't hold a curl. I used my curling wand and after applying the mascara; I felt like my eyelashes drooped down again....it could be that the tubing is too heavy for my tiny little lashes!
Smudge Free: The mascara stays put! There was no smudging at all and I did not experience any flakes. My eyes tend to water up when I laugh and this passed the laugh test! Thumbs up.
Easy to Remove: I used my makeup wipe to remove this and although I would say it's easy to remove, there a few bits and pieces left; which was a struggle to take off. If you do have a hard time removing this mascara then try miceller water or even an oil. Thumbs up for this too!
