I find the video to be so simple yet so powerful at the same time. It's just so incredibility sad. We have read these sort of tweets and to be honest we may even laugh at them...I have laughed at many memes on Intagram so I am definitely a culprit here.
Seeing the tweets being read to these unfortunate ladies has made me see how mean we are towards each other. I'm not blaming men entirely for this but women too. I have seen so much hate from a woman towards another woman that it's unfathomable to understand. I blame all of us and although this video focuses on men; for any male readers I want you to think that if someone said these things to your sister/mother/daughter, most likely you would be spending the rest of your life in prison for killing that person. Yet when we see mean tweets or memes or anything in general we just laugh and do nothing about the abuse that most women have to go through on a daily basis. We are all just trying to live in this world and do our jobs to the best of our abilities and that gives you no right, ever to lash out to someone and call them names.
This generation of "keyboard warriors," (you will see plenty of them on youtube commenting mean and horrible things on people's videos) do not care about the consequences. For just one moment, take some time and think, is what I'm writing offensive? am I able to say my comment to the person's face directly? and if the answer is no, then don't comment! It's truly that simple, if you can't say something to their face then don't say it behind their back. Truly, the saying of if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything applies every single time!
So, this Friday just take a moment to reflect and think before you type something. Your one silly little comment could have a life long effect on an individual.
