Spring is apparently here, although in Canada it still feels like Winter. Here's a quick round-up of some of the fashion trends you will see for Spring 2017 so you can indulge!
Pink - "particularly of the fuchsia variety - flooded the catwalk at shows such as Celine, Valentino, Topshop Unique and Balenciaga. Whether you choose to layer lots of different hues over your separates like at Valentino, or colour block by wearing coats over statement dresses like at Topshop, you won't go wrong as long as it's pink, pink, pink." Cosmopolitan.
Sleeves - Another trend that is taking some time to filter off the catwalk, the detailed sleeve that we'll be embracing during Spring 2017. Think ruffles, flutes, cropped, bunched, oversized - according to Marques' Almeida, Balmain and more, anything goes.
Stripes - Who doesn't love stripes? Fashion's favorite print is timeless and totally wearable. This year, get ready to see stripes in all sizes and colors on everything from chunky sweaters to knit dresses and oversize shirts.
Strong Shoulders - "Voluminous sleeves and architectural shoulder pads reminiscent of the '80s. Balenciaga, Jacquemus (shown here), and Saint Laurent sent various options down the runway for spring 2017, marking the end of this year's much beloved (and overdone) off-the-shoulder silhouette." Allure
Words - "The return of the slogan tee is here, preferably of the feminist variety as seen at Christian Dior and Stella McCartney. Whether you want yours to be political or just super sassy - like Haider Ackermann - try tucking into a maxi skirt and wearing with plenty of eyeliner." Cosmopolitan
Bralettes - Perfect for those with a love of underwear as outerwear, Kendall Jenner's favourite piece of clothing is going to be everywhere for spring. They'll be strappy, as seen on the model herself on the Alexander Wang catwalk, covered in floral prints, as seen at Tory Burch and in luxe velvet textures like at Victoria Beckham.
Ruffles - "Like fancy sleeves, ruffles are transitioning from the autumn/winter catwalks to Spring with a serious kick. We can't wait to try out the romantic ruffles and floral prints that sauntered down the catwalk at Dolce & Gabbana, while Mulberry made theirs look like ruffles were made for the office." Cosmopolitan
Boots from Zara
So apparently winter is back in Canada! It's already snowing outside...argh!
I recently bought a velvet over the knee boot from Zara and I am obsessed. I wore the above boots to work on Valentine's Day (you know I had to wear red!) and I received so many compliments. I love this trend especially since it's so versatile and a great way to transition into Spring.
You Choose from suede and leather varieties in a range of heights, styles and colours. Whether you love a high heel to lengthen your legs or prefer the comfort of a flat sole, there is an over-the-knee boot for you. Opt for standard black boots to match all your outfits or embrace the new range of browns, soft greys and burgundy. If you’re looking to take this trend to the next level and add some extra wow-factor, pick up a pair of the lace-up variety. No matter what you choose, you won’t be disappointed.
Over the knee boots can be intimidating especially for first time buyers so here are some general guidelines to help you out and make sure you conquer this statement footwear.
One of my favourite fashion trend during the Academy Awards, Oscars 2017 were the crowns! Just when you thought you didn't need a crown, well ladies it's time to get yourself a tiara that you deserve!
.Loving star Ruth Negga looked like red-carpet royalty wearing a Gemfield ruby-encrusted crown by Irene Neuwirth with matching diamond-and-ruby drop earrings.
Singer/actor Janelle Monae of Hidden Figures stepped out in a black tulle Elie Saab gown paired with a gold crown by Jennifer Behr.
Salma Hayek opted for a plunging black spaghetti-strap gown, topped with a bejeweled hair piece to pull back her tresses.
I love this trend! You can easily glam up any look by adding a jeweled headband to your hair. There are many stores that are currently selling jeweled headbands such as, Nordstrom, Zara, ASOS, and Aldo.
Go ahead and treat yourself like a Queen!

Hello, ladies! With Valentine’s Day inching closer, it’s time to start planning what you’ll wear. It doesn't matter if you're taken or riding solo, choosing the right outfit is an important piece of the puzzle. But, before you get hung up (and stressed out) trying to put something together, we're here to offer a little inspiration!
Let's start of with some quick tips to keep in mind:
Ok so let's dive in to outfit ideas. So the right outfit is not universal for everyone. I've seen girls wear dresses for v-day, shorts, jumpsuits, skirts and pants. There is no right or wrong thing to wear. The golden rule to any outfit is to wear something that gives you confidence! There is nothing sexier than a woman who exudes confidence so wear something that makes you feel good and sexy....whatever that may be! Accentuate your plus points, so if you have really sexy shoulders, opt for a off the shoulder dress/shirt. If you love your back then go for something backless. the possibilities are endless!
Just remember to be yourself and maybe add a little bit of sexy to your outfit just to keep him on his toes. So if you are more of a casual girl who lives in her jeans and sneakers. Your date is taking you somewhere uber fancy and you are stressing over what to wear. Opt for maybe a simple sheath dress or a jumpsuit so you're still comfortable, with a pair of flats because heels are not your thing! Maybe curl your hair so you get that instant sexy beg-head thing going on, wear a red lipstick, or add a lace bralette under your outfit so he gets a little peak here and there. If your significant other likes a certain colour then try to incorporate that in your outfit.
The most important question that many people think about is....do I wear red on valentine's day or is it too corny? We say, YES! wear it...why not? But don't go head-to-toe in bright red! Try to add in red in little pieces or opt for pink instead? If you want to be a true fashionista then go for burgundy or blush! I absolutely love both of those colours and I find it so sexy and classy.
Another great tip is to wear something different or new on Valentine's day. But don't go OTT or buy something new for no reason. Wear something that your significant other has never seen before so it's exciting or wear something that you would never normally wear. For example, If you aren't huge on jewelry but on v-day add on a pair of studs or earrings just to spice things up. If you don't wear bold or bright colours, try adding a bright colour in your outfit....it could be your bag or your shoes! Dress up not only for him but yourself as well! Keep things exciting and fresh....trust me, men are oblivious but he will notice when you do little things for him.

DINNER FOR TWO:
For the more traditional route when it comes to Valentine’s Day. A dinner reservation at one of your favorite spots is the perfect way to celebrate your love. We say go all-out. Put on a pretty dress, wear those fancy heels, and grab a sparkly clutch.
If you’re living the single life or just don’t feel like celebrating V-Day with your partner, a ladies’ night out is always a good idea. Getting together with a bunch of your best girlfriends is the perfect way to ring in any holiday… especially one based around love. For an outing like this, I would go a little more fun and flirty. Wear a shorter dress or an off the shoulder top, strap on some high heels, and add a pop of color where you can.
For couples looking for a low-key Valentine’s Day, an evening in sounds lovely. You can cook dinner (or order in from your favorite restaurant), watch a movie, play a few card games, and just spend quality time together. And when it comes to dressing for an occasion like this, I would try to mix cozy with chic. Try a feminine dress or a camisole with some jeans, sexy lounge-wear with a delicate necklace.
Valentine's Day is stressful enough, so your outfit should be a no-brainer: wear what makes you feel your best!
I recently went to Her Majesty's Pleasure on King Street West (you know this if my fav place!) and I love, love, love my nails!
The whole experience is great and the girls do such a fab job on your nails. It's a great salon to go with your girls, where you can grab a drink from the bar and go get your nails done while you catch up on some gossip.
If you are in Toronto, you must go check it out!
Fur stoles are so in this winter and i'm sure you have already started seeing them pop up everywhere especially on the fashion bloggers. This is such a chic way to help you through these freezing few months and why not wrap yourself in a huge fur blanket? Let me try to convince you into buying a fur stole.
Worn around the neck like a collar, draped over your shoulder, or in the crooks of your elbows like a shawl, a fur stole adds a luxe feel to your outfit: You can wear them atop a denim jacket, draped around the neck of a longline vest, or across your body like a mini handbag. Another great way to wear a fur stole is to pin a broach on top to make it stay and it can instantly give your outfit a pop of shine!
Whichever look you choose, you need to think about balance. Faux fur stoles can make a bit of a splash, so you don’t want to overcrowd it with statement jewelry, big patterns or clashing colours. Keep it simple and you’ll be able to rock winter stoles all season long!
A trend which I've noticed is the monochromatic look where you match the fur stole with your coat. It's a great way to keep your whole outfit neutral and if you don't want to make a statement then this is a great look.
I've paired my fur stole today with denim jeans and a denim shirt. By adding on the fur stole over my shoulders, I've instantly amplified my outfit and already gotten alot of compliments.
Here are some ways fashion bloggers have incorporated the fur stole to their outfits and hopefully it will encourage you to invest in one!
I can't help but write this post but I have this huge love affair with shawl-collar sweaters. It's popping up everywhere and I've noticed more guys investing in a cardigan. We posted about this trend a while ago and from a woman's point of view, it is such a sexy add on to an outfit!
A shawl-collar neckline lets a man show off the things that make him manly—shoulder brawn, chest, Adam's apple—without it giving you a over the top bulky feeling.
I'm not going to say much as i'm already drooling. So i'm going to let GQ provide some advise on how to rock this trend. Click the video below below. Just note that you don't have to go that big and chunky and can opt for a slimmer look.
The first award cerermony of the year kicked off with the Golden Globe Awards and here is a fashion round-up of some of our favs of the night!
P.S. How cute was Ryan Gosling's speech......#swoon
Do you remember when matte nails were all the rage? Well, that is so 2015! During the end of 2016 and now, Chrome nails are popping up everywhere! I love the look and the whole metallic/chrome look is so futuristic and on trend right now!
If you haven't gotten these done then I would recommend giving it a try! The possibilities of colours are endless but my favourite are the gold or silver. Below is some inspo for you.
