Do you remember when matte nails were all the rage? Well, that is so 2015! During the end of 2016 and now, Chrome nails are popping up everywhere! I love the look and the whole metallic/chrome look is so futuristic and on trend right now!
If you haven't gotten these done then I would recommend giving it a try! The possibilities of colours are endless but my favourite are the gold or silver. Below is some inspo for you.
We wanted to wish our readers a Happy New Year! Let's hope this year is full of fashion, beauty and fun!
Thank you for reading and supporting us!
2016 is ending and so we thought we would list the top 5 trends that we would like to leave in 2016! It's time to let go people.
1. Cold Shoulder Tops - You know I hate them! Off-the-shoulder is great — it’s sexy and flattering — but cold shoulder just looks like you cut some holes in your top for no good reason.
2. Fitness Trackers as a fashion statement - They are just so ugly and unnecessary. If you want to live a healthier life, then drink more water, eat more vegetables, actually exercise. I get it you exercise but there are so many other ways you can check your fitness....install an app on your phone or wear it when you go to the gym! Don't make it a fashion statement.
3. All 90's Fashion - Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the 90's but we don't have to love all the fashion. There were so many faux-pas' and we don't need to bring all of them back....let's live and learn.
4. Furry Slides - They are uber comfortable; ok i'll give you that but oh so ugly at the same time. Call it the Rihanna effect — her Fenty Puma slides married the Gucci fur slipper and it became so trendy that people were wearing them everywhere! Let's keep slippers at home please.
5. Sock Boots - You can blame Kanye for this one! Ankle boots have been cool for years, but in 2016, the coolest kind to buy was a taller style with a very slim-fitting shaft. This style is set to get even bigger in 2017 — ugh! There are so many girls on IG who are DIY-ing this style by adding a sock on top of their pumps. This trend just needs to take the boot!p)
There you have it, our top 5 fashion trends that need to drop in 2016.
We hope everyone has an amazing New Year and hope the next year brings everyone happiness and prosperity!
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and enjoyed the holidays! I certainly enjoyed the time off and have already put on the holiday weight...Bah-Humbug!
New Year's Eve is coming up and I know for many girls it's a lot of pressure living up to the hype! For many of us we spend countless days thinking about what to wear to ring in the New Year.
Here are some quick tips (courtesy of Huffington Post) on helping you decide on what to wear depending on whatever party you end up at;
1. Bar Hopping - Go for Shimmer!
Planning on bar hopping with your squad this New Year's Eve? You'll need to keep cozy (and stylish). Pair your shimmering jumpsuit with a stylish coat. Or put on some faux leather leggings with a glam top. Remember you need to stay warm while you are hopping bars with the ladies so put on a coat! Don't go for a heavy parka as it will be too heavy for you to carry around while running around the city.
2. Clubbing - Glitterazzi Squad!
Let's be real — New Year's Eve is all about that glitter and shimmer. Keep things classic with a standout sequin dress and strappy heels, and accessorize the look with a chic ear cuff or a statement necklace. Don't forget to snapchat only the moments you want to remember the next day!
3. Fam Jam - Casually Chic!
Keep things effortless at your family party with a perfectly draped dress that can be paired with nylons and a high heeled boot. Or drape a jumpsuit for a very casual yet chic look. To play up the outfit, add an eye-catching hair accessory to your NYE 'do or add a statement jewellery piece. You can definetley dress up your favourite dress for this party as it's a little more cas' but don't forget it's NYE so add a little sparkle!
4. House Party - K.I.S.S
Going to ring in the New Year with your best pals at home? Keep it simple. A pair of ripped black jeans and a t-shirt/blouse will do. To glam things up, accessorize with a necklace or chandelier earrings - layer on the midi rings and gold chains and don't be afraid to rock a bootie instead of a stiletto.
5. Fancy Shmancy - Bougie
For the fanciest of New Year's Eve parties, steal the show in a floor-length gown, because girl, this is the one night where you can channel your inner Hollywood screen siren. Pair your frock with a simple clutch and bracelet. And don't forget those diamond earrings, because as the saying goes, they're your best friend.
Most importantly, don't forget to add a pop of colour on your lips to give that special guy/girl in your life a big smooch at midnight!
I've added some outfit inspo to help my girls out from Nordstom (you know I'm always looking out for you!). Hope you have a fab time ringing in the New Year.....see ya later 2016!
Annina Skirt by Club Monaco
It's that time of the year again when your work week mostly consists of office parties....who's complaining right? I need no excuse to eat desserts and pig out on yummy food!
Whenever you hear about any sort of office Christmas Party (during your work hours or post), the first question that usually pops up is, what am I going to wear? (ok, maybe this is the first question for a fashionista such as myself, but it's always after I wonder what type of food will be served...priorities right?).
If you love getting all dressed up, the holiday season is definitely a fun time to really experiment with your sense of style. If you want to make a great first impression in front of your boss and your colleagues, we recommend leaving the dangerously short hemlines, sheer silhouettes, and plunging necklines behind — but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look stylish! So here are some quick tips from HollywoodLife.com, to help you pick our your perfect outfit:
For my office team Christmas party, the attire is more casual, so I didn't dress up too much and it was tough trying to find a happy medium! I donned a pair of my dark indigo Levi's with a Lilac lace peplum top from H&M, and my Zara ankle boots (click on the links for more details for the same product or a similar one). I added some crystal earrings and a few rings to add some shine to my whole outfit.
For my office Christmas party, which is much bigger in scale, I decided to wear this gorgeous Club Monaco gold skirt (picture above) with a black off the shoulder top and my Valentino Rock-Stud heels. Currently pleated skirts in metallic are on trend and you will see them everywhere. I was initially determined on buying a pleated skirt in silver from Zara but when I saw the gold skirt at Club Monaco, I instantly fell in love. The gold is very different and I love that it's a little more muted as opposed to the very bright silver skirts that I'm seeing in stores. I feel that I can get more wear from this skirt as it's more versatile than the other metallic skirts in store.
If you are looking for an outift, then I would recommend trying on a metallic skirt and adding it to your wardrobe. It's a very fun addition to anyone's collection.
So how can you instantly create a polished look? Just add a camel coat! I once read that a camel coloured coat can make you seem richer as well, so clearly we need this in our closet!
A richer shade in camel will take your winter outerwear to the next level. These days, it seems like all our favorite stars are upping their street-style game with a camel coat. And it's easy to see why; the caramel hue is very elegant, conveying sophistication that black just doesn't impart quite as easily. It's also a shade that commands attention without being too in-your-face, Finally, it's completely wearable, since it does fall in the neutral family.
I've been looking for a camel coat for ages and I still haven't found the perfect one...yet! So for this winter season,I will be on the hunt for a luxurious camel coat so I can instantly up my game. Basically, the biggest takeaway here is: Camel is the new black.
I am so excited that H&M has finally launched online in Canada! (It's about time!)
I'll probably go crazy on the weekend and spend all my money shopping (just take my money H&M). I am an avid online shopper. Going to the mall, parking, the crowds just give me too much anxiety and stress so I shop 90% of my clothes online. I have my favourite stores and know exactly my size so it's very easy for me. Also, who doesn't love free returns and shipping!
I'm ready to put on my pj's and start shopping away. So excited!
Let's get straight into it; Here are the 5 must-have trends for Women for Fall 2016:
Alright guys, we didn't forget about you! So here are the 5 must-have trends for Fall 2016:
So I lied, I have 2 more trends for both men and women that we will see everywhere!
But reThis trend is so popular these days; just go into any store and you will find so many different variations of velvet! There's no denying that velvet has taken over all the shelves.
Seriously, who can resist the allure of velvet? It's a fabric of nobility and royalty. It boasts a dangerous streak, with connections to glam rock and nighttime seduction. And now, the smooth, luxurious material has a wonderfully been re-introduced as the "it" fabric to wear and I have a feeling it's gonna stay here for a while.
Basically, velvet can assume many personalities. It can go from being sexy by wearing a jumpsuit or a wrap around dress to a daytime look by adding a blazer with your favourite pair of jeans and tee.
You will find this trend in many different items just as clothes, bags, shoes; just name it and it comes in velvet! I love how bold all the colours are especially the jewel tones (those are my fav!).
I'm not going to lie to you but this is a difficult trend to pull off if you aren't super skinny. Velvet usually adds weight to your frame because it's a very bulky fabric. But, we are fortunate because you will find that many of the stores carry different types of velvet; from the traditional, bulky material to soft, floaty and thinner velvet. If you are afraid of adding more bulk to your frame, opt for the thinner material and for dresses look for wrap dresses that have a little ruching built in so it can hide some flaws (we all have them!). Structured velvet that accentuates your frame is the best for any body type; don't let it over power you!
If you aren't ready to go all the way with Velvet then try opting for velvet booties or a velvet bag to compliment your outfit. The choices are endless but remember to keep it minimal!
I have always loved velvet so I'm so happy to see it back in fashion. Velvet always adds a little bit of 'sexy' to any outfit and can elevate any look. I've added some fashion inspo below to encourage you to go buy something in this very trending fabric!
