I guess in my generation we don't truly understand the true meaning of a struggle. I was born in the Middle East and lived in Canada for 16 years so, my connection to Pakistan may not be as strong but my roots are there and Pakistan lives in my heart.
When I hear about what's happening over there and all the media reports shaming this beautiful country, it breaks my heart. We are an extremely young country; just 69, so we can't lose hope. There are some very corrupt people who have destroyed this land but to quote, Khalil Gibran "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars."
Our day will come so don't lose faith; as mentioned by Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Founder of Pakistan), "There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan."
I wanted to wish all Pakistani's a Happy Independence Day! Be proud of the country that has fought and loved you so much.
